The National Institute For Play
"The National Institute for Play believes that as play is woven into the fabric of social practices, we will dramatically transform our personal health, our relationships, the education we provide our children and the capacity of our corporations to innovate." This website describes the seven patterns of play and how children benefit from play.
Fine Motor Activities
This website has some great activities that are designed to improve your child's fine motor abilities at home. There are a variety of hands-on activities that you can try with your child. The idea is to find activities that they enjoy, so that learning is fun and not a chore. We will be doing a variety of these and other activities in class throughout the year. Please let me know if you have any questions!
For Children
Starfall
Starfall is a website that I have used in my classroom for years. It is easy for children to navigate through and full of literacy activities that my students really seem to enjoy!
